Dine Around and Stay in Town 2019 in Victoria starts this Friday, January 25 until February 10, 2019. Over 50 local restaurants are offering set-price, three-course menus while Victoria’s hotels also will join in the fun and offer accommodations at reduced prices.
Steps from Victoria’s Inner Harbour, 10 Acres Bistro + Bar offers a West Coast dining experience showcasing the freshest foods from Vancouver Island including seafood and cheese along with the finest seasonal produce, meats and eggs direct from their farm on the Saanich Peninsula.
I had the opportunity to preview the 10 Acre’s $30 3-Course Dine Around 2019 menu. Here’s a look at what I tried.
Appetizer: Grilled Octopus
To start, I enjoyed the chewy yet tender grilled octopus featuring 10 Acres Farm tomatillo roasted tomatoes, Spanish chorizo, white beans
Main Course: Sooke Trout
For my main, I went with the Sooke Trout which had a deliciously crispy skin. This was accompanied by 10 Acres Farm winter vegetables fennel, spinach, arugula, and bagna cauda chimi churri.
Other options for mains are the 1/4 Rotisserie Chicken and Farm Grain Bowl.
Dessert: Chocolate Cake
The chocolate lover in me went with the chocolate cake with chocolate sponge, chocolate mousse and an espresso ganache. Rich not too decadent and satisfying. The other dessert option is the Sticky Toffee Pudding.
