Here’s what’s happening in the food scene in Vancouver. You’ll find some restaurant reopenings, new products and ideas on how to support local.
Restaurants Reopening
Honolulu Coffee
Honolulu Coffee Vancouver has reopened both of its cafes in downtown Vancouver (888 Nelson) and Kerrisdale (2098 W. 41st Ave.) for five-days-a-week service.
Their new ‘Aloha to Go’ offerings feature an array of warm-weather favourites like iced Hawaiian Lattes, açaí bowls, cold brew and fresh-fruit smoothies as well as fresh-baked pastries, cookies and more available by phone for contactless, cashless pickup or delivery through Doordash and Uber Eats.
Tacofino
Starting Monday, May 18, Tacofino will reopen its Hastings Commissary location at 2327 E. Hastings Street (for pickup and delivery only, just like its recently opened Kitsilano outpost) and resume sending its roaming fleet of food trucks back to locations across the city including its usual weekday spot adjacent the Vancouver Art Gallery at Howe and Robson.
The Hastings menu will be available for delivery and pre-ordered pickup via DoorDash and tacofino.com from the Commissary seven days a week from 3 to 8 p.m. on Monday, May 18 and from noon to 8 p.m. starting Tuesday, May 19.

New Products
Go Pure
Go Pure is a new line of innovative and healthy snack bars with soft texture, refreshing flavours, and “clean-label” simple ingredients for the whole family.

Pacific Poke
Pacific Poke is selling hand sanitizer at its retail locations to raise funds for the Vancouver Aquarium. 100% of sales go to the Aquarium! The sanitizer is available in 60ml containers for $4 each. Pacific Poke hopes to raise $8,000 for the Aquarium through the initiative.
