It may come as a surprise, but I actually really enjoy country music. Several years back, I was a fan of the show Nashville, starring Hayden Panettiere, who recently passed away. The show had inspired me to travel to Nashville on vacation.
One of the unique spots that I visited was the Dolly Parton-inspired White Limozeen, located on the rooftop of Graduate Nashville. The restaurant takes the name from Dolly Parton’s 1989 album and song, White Limozeen.
The concept draws from Dolly and the people who come to Nashville to pursue their dreams. The food brings Southern and French influences together without feeling too formal.
The design is very pink, from the furniture inside to the chairs and striped umbrellas on the patio. Outside, there are black-and-white checkerboard floors and a large pink Dolly sculpture overlooking the rooftop.
I tried the Brunch Caviar, which came with soft eggs and a fried pastry. There was some saltiness and a little pop in each bite paried with the creaminess of the eggs.
There was the Hot Smoked Salmon Niçoise Salad too. It was a fairly large salad with thick pieces of smoked salmon over the greens.
I had the Cherry Blossom cocktail, which came in a cut-glass tumbler. It was fruity, a little tart and not too sweet. The pink-red colour fit right in with everything around me.
I enjoyed walking around the rooftop and taking photos by the Dolly sculpture. The setting is clearly a large part of coming here. People were dressed up and taking photos all around the space.
