Jules Bistro in the heart of Gastown is where you can experience an authentic French bistro experience.
A Gastown staple since 2007, the bistro is the embodiment of chef-owner Emmanuel’s seasoned career as a French chef. His menu melds the flavours of France with a West Coast style, offering up authentic, traditional French dishes and daily specials all using fresh, local ingredients at affordable prices.
Jules Bistro Happy Hour Menu
Jules Bistro offers Happy Hour daily from 2:30 pm – 5:30 pm where you can indulge in a range of small plates ($8.50 each) over a glass of wine (or bottle). The menu features:
- Steamed Mussels
- Chili Dusted Calamari
- Cheese Platter
- Charcuterie Platter (with chicken liver mousse)
- Sauteed Mix Mushrooms
- Cauliflower Bites
- Truffle Fries
I had the opportunity to try their Happy Hour menu and enjoyed all the dishes I tried (Steamed Mussels, Charcuterie Platter, Chili Dusted Calamari, Sauteed Mix Mushrooms).
Steamed mussels (white wine, garlic and parsley)
Sauteed mix Mushrooms (roasted garlic, rosemary butter)
Charcuterie Platter (with chorizo, proscuitto, salumi and chicken liver mousse)
The chicken liver mousse was particularly amazing. It was very smooth and didn’t taste metallic.
Chili Dusted Calamari (with ponzu sauce)
The calamari was nicely crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.
The cozy and charming atmosphere also made it a lovely experience.
