Best BBQ Grilling Hacks 2022: Charcoal, Gas Grilling

What separates a grill master from your average joe? The secret lies in technique. National BBQ month is just around the corner and Weber Grills Canada is sharing its Best BBQ Grilling Hacks to help Canadians improve their technique for the tastiest dishes imaginable.

Whether you want to master the art of charcoal grilling or step up your gas grilling game, follow these five tips to fire things up!

Best BBQ Grilling Hacks 2022: Charcoal, Gas Grilling

1. Tame the flame

While you might get excited to heat things up, too many flare-ups will burn your food. Keep your BBQ lid closed as much as possible to limit the amount of oxygen getting into your grill. If the flame does get out of hand, move your food to indirect heat until it dies down.

2. Ditch the lighter fluid

No one wants the chemical fumes from lighter fluid in their food. When charcoal grilling, ditch the lighter fluid and opt for chimney starters and lighter cubes to fire up your grill instead.

3. Grill smarter, not harder

Monitoring your time and grill temperature is the key to avoid over or under cooking your food. With the Weber Connect Smart Grilling Hub, you can sit back and relax while receiving updates on food readiness and live grilling instructions directly to your smart phone.

4. Keep it clean

A clean grill is a happy grill. Always use a grill brush to give your grates a good clean before grilling. To get the most of your clean, preheat your grill beforehand to loosen up old bits of food stuck to the grate.

5. Perfect the art of “low and slow”

Good things come to those who wait. For roasts, poultry and thicker cuts of meat that require more than 20 minutes of cooking, the low and slow grilling method is your best friend. Whether you are charcoal grilling or using a gas grill, low and slow can be achieved by cooking over indirect heat at lower temperatures for a longer time.
