North Vancouver all-natural ice cream purveyor, Welcome Parlour, recently opened up a second location in the Lower Lonsdale area at The Shipyards.
My family and I recently spent at an afternoon at The Shipyard Common’s new 8,000 square ft water park. The Welcome Parlour is conveniently located right by it so we picked up some ice cream to enjoy.
Since decisions are hard when it comes to choosing an ice cream flavour, we went with a flight ($7.50) which comes with choice of 4 flavours. We had Strawberry & Cheesecake; Cookies & Cream; Vegan Mango & Pineapple; and Birthday Cake.
The ice creams tasted very natural and true to their flavours. I usually avoid flavours like Birthday Cake as it usually tastes very artificial but Welcome Parlour’s version is very good and natural; I would say that it was my favourite out of the four. The texture was also pretty creamy and smooth.
I did think the scoops were a bit small but perhaps fair for an artisanal product. Perhaps they should consider increasing the size of the scoops to fill out the box more for appearance’s sake.
Overall Impression of Welcome Parlour Shiyards
I’d be happy to revisit Welcome Parlour to try more of the flavours. Rating: 4/5
