After Hours @ Vancouver Aquarium

Get freaky and fabulous at the next After Hours on August 1 at the Vancouver Aquarium. High-energy drag performances and surprising animal sex talks will keep Pride Week vibes strong at this risqué adults-only After Hours event.

Enjoy special musical performances by three local drag queens, and learn about the outrageous reproductive strategies of marine creatures during Animal Sex Talks about coral sex, sea otter love and a shark’s favourite position.

Tickets are only available online at vanaqua.org/after-hours.  $30 for members and $38 for non-members.  

Lady In Red Ball with Kendall Gender @ The Pacific Ballroom at Hotel Vancouver

Whether it pays homage to Fairmont Hotel Vancouver‘s renowned ghost or the drag queen superstar Kendall Gender, the Lady in Red Ball fundraiser will return and this year takes place in the elegant Pacific Ballroom.

The evening will be emceed by Kendall Gender, Fairmont PRIDE, and includes cirque performances by NZR Productions, music by Stephen Scaccia, and disc jockey Man About Town.

The fundraiser also includes a silent auction and wine wall, canapés and a welcome cocktail.  Tickets, available at www.notch8-dining.com, are $89 with a $10 donation to Dr. Peter Aids Foundation.


Tacofino Gastown Drag Bingo Party

On Friday, August 2 at Tacofino’s Gastown Taco Bar, local drag queens Mina Mercury and Carlotta Gurl will step into the spotlight to host four fierce rounds of interactive Drag Bingo beginning at 5 p.m. for a suggested cash donation of $10. Extended Happy Hour specials will be available from 3 to 7 p.m. and prizes will also be up for grabs throughout the night.


Cocktails

Drink, Dine & Donate with PRIDE.  Special PRIDE cocktails at the Fairmont are available for a month from July 5 through August 5 with $1 donated to Dr. Peter Aids Foundation.

It’s Butterfly Kisses in ARC at Fairmont Waterfront. Bright and bubbly, the libation is made with Prosecco, lemon juice, honey syrup from the hotel’s bees, and gin infused with butterfly pea flowers by Wayward Distillation House. Butterfly kisses are done with partners close together, eyes almost touching with eyelids fluttering – like being kissed by the delicate wings of a butterfly. Priced at $18.

The 1181 served in Jetside Bar at Fairmont Vancouver Airport gives a nod to the iconic Davie Village institution known for their inclusive welcoming vibe. Made with Empress gin, Fort Berens rose wine and lemon juice, the drink is shaken and served in a coup glass. Priced at $15.  

In Notch8 at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, a Bear It All has been created.  Featuring Botanist gin and tonic, with gummy bears frozen in ice cubes, it’s garnished with a rainbow sugar belt and sells for $16.


Tacofino’s ’Te Amo’ Pride Cocktail is available August 2 – 4 at ALL Tacofino locations. It is made of custom lavender-and-butterfly-pea-infused Cazadores Blanco, Aperol, housemade blueberry syrup and soda. The limited-edition libation will be offered for $12, with $2 from the sale of each cocktail donated to Vancouver Friends for Life and Foundation of Hope.

Gotham Steakhouse’s Pride Cocktail, PRIDECAR, is available July 29 – August 4.

One Proud Papi created by Bar Manager Brandon Bourne at Papi’s Seafood and Oyster Bar. This cocktail will be available at Papi’s on August 3 and August 4 during Pride Weekend. $2 from every cocktail sold will be donated to Vancouver Pride Society.

Food

Giovane Cafe @ Fairmont Pacific Rim

At giovane café at Fairmont Pacific Rim, Rainbow Buns (a take on the renowned sugar buns) are stuffed with a rainbow cream filling and take centre stage. Available from July 5 through August 5, they can be pre-ordered and cost $7 each with $1 donated to Dr. Peter Aids Foundation.

Temper Pastry

Taste the rainbow at Temper Chocolate and Pastry and celebrate Pride Week with two new colourful dessert items available for purchase from July 29 until August 4.

Temper Pastry will be offering a special 6-piece box of rainbow chocolate domes. Each box comes wrapped in a rainbow ribbon and includes six individual domes to match the six colours in the pride rainbow.

Each colour corresponds to the flavour of an iconic cocktail – a nod to the joyous festivities that take place across the city in celebrations of Pride. Each box is $16. For every box of chocolate domes sold, $1 will be donated to the  Dr. Peter Aids Foundation

Or celebrate Pride Week with a cake! Choose any cake flavour and Temper Pastry will glaze the cake in a rainbow theme.  Cakes are available in four sizes and price points: 6-8 serving at $38, 10-12 serving at $48, 20 serving at $75, and 40 serving at $150.

Fable Diner

A colorful/rainbow themed gnocchi dish will be featured at Fable Diner for the weekend of Pride (August 2 to 4). This delicious item is $17 and $2 from each dish will be donated to Dr. Peter Aids Foundation.

Teahouse

The Teahouse will be featuring a special house-made dessert for Pride Week (July 29 to August 4). Created by Pastry Chef Noel Singh – Fruit Loop layer cake with buttercream and mirror glaze topped with meringues. The dessert is $11.50/each and $2 from each dessert sale will be donated to local charity, Rainbow Refugees.

Yuwa Japanese Cuisine

Chef Masahiro and his team at Yuwa has created a special Pride Roll with snow crab, green bean, corn and edamame on the inside of the roll, plus cracker crumbs, bell pepper, zucchini, purple yam and sweet soy braised tofu curd. This unique roll is $19 and $1 from each roll sale will be donated to Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation. This feature will be available from July 29 to August 4.
