I’ve enjoyed the Kinton Ramen brand offerings and have visited their locations in Point Grey and Surrey locations over the years. This time around, we visited their North Vancouver location for a quick lunch and ordered some of our favourites.
About Kinton Ramen
If you’re unfamiliar, the Kinton Ramen chain is operated by the Canadian-owned KINKA FAMILY restaurant group. First established in Toronto in May 2012, the award-winning ramen chain now more than 20 locations throughout Canada and the United States.
Kinton Ramen Menu
The menu includes a range of hearty ramen bowls prepared with slow-cooked pork, chicken and vegetarian broth in four distinct styles — Original, Shoyu, Miso, Spicy. Ramen bowls are served with a choice of thick, thin or shirataki noodles and finished with traditional and modern toppings like seasoned egg, bamboo shoots, wood ear mushrooms, nori, and sweet corn. Bowls start at $16.99 and you can order additional protein and toppings.
What We Tried
We got the Pork Original ($16.99) with a extra half noodle ($1.90). It came with sea salt, pork, bamboo shoots, nori, wood ear mushrooms, seasoned egg, and scallions
We also got the Chicken Original ($16.99) with sea salt, chicken, bamboo shoots, nori, wood ear mushrooms, seasoned egg, and scallions along with shirataki noodles ($5.90) and a side bowl of rice ($2.50).
They’re one of few spots in Metro Vancouver offering a gluten-free noodle option – that is, shirataki noodles which are made of konjac yam. I do think that they should cut up the noodles a bit more because they came as a big lump together.
The broths were flavourful but not overly heavy. Ramen noodles were al dente. The pork and chicken pieces were tender.
Interior
Their space is modern, sleek and clean.
Kinton Ramen North Vancouver is located at 1325 Lonsdale Ave #105, North Vancouver, BC.
