Canada Day 2019 Deal: foodora offering 40% off Poutine until July 7, 2019

Did you know? Poutine was born in rural Quebec in the 1950s but its exact origin is not clear. It was allegedly invented in 1957 in rural Warwick, Quebec, but at least four other towns have laid claim to it as well. Another story credits a super-hungry truck driver to having invented poutine.

foodora offering 40% off Poutine until July 7, 2019

foodora is offering a squeaky deal to celebrate Canada’s 152 birthday: 40% off poutine until July 7. The deal is happening across Canada but in Vancouver the participating restaurants are: Calabash Bistro, Dunn’s Famous, Frites – Granville, Save on Meats, Smoke’s Poutinerie – Granville, The Arbor. Available as pick up or delivery (depending on location).

Smoke’s Poutinerie has a lot of options and the poutines are meals in themselves. I had the following

  • OHHH CANADA Poutine: fried Eggo waffles, double-smoked bacon, maple syrup, crushed ketchup chips
  • Veggie Deluxe Meal: caramelized onions, mushrooms and green peas
  • Hot Chick: fried Eggo waffles, fried Nashville hot chicken bites, sliced pickles

Happy Canada Day!
