UNION NEW AMERICAN is sharing a recipe for Bacon-Wrapped Jalapeño Poppers for those making game-day snacks at home. Jalapeños are filled with pimento and white cheddar cheese, wrapped in bacon, sprinkled with BBQ rub, and baked at 425°F. The poppers rest for five minutes before being served with ranch dressing and a garnish of chopped chives.
Ingredients
- Green Jalapeños: 6 each
- Smoked Bacon Strips: 6 each
- BBQ Rub: 1 tbsp
- Kosher Salt: To taste
- Neutral Cooking Oil: 1 tbsp
- Pimento Cheese: 6 oz (weight)
- White Cheddar Cheese: 2 oz (weight)
- Buttermilk Ranch Dressing: 6 oz (fluid)
Procedure
- Preheat the oven to 425°F.
- Cut the jalapeños in half lengthwise and discard the seeds. Season the jalapeños with salt and brush them with oil. Set the peppers aside. Take the bacon strips and cut in half, and set aside.
- 3. Scoop the pimento cheese into the jalapeño halves. Sprinkle cheddar cheese on top. Wrap each stuffed jalapeño tightly with a bacon strip to ensure the filling stays in place. Sprinkle the bacon with BBQ rub.
- Place the stuffed jalapeños on a sheet pan and bake in the oven for about 10 minutes, or until the bacon is golden brown.
- Once cooked, remove from the oven and let the jalapeño poppers rest for at least five minutes before serving.
- Serve with your favorite ranch dressing and garnish with finely chopped chives.
