Chinese-Macanese Hotpot Brand, The Dolar Shop, has opened their US flagship store at 55 3rd Avenue in the East Village of New York City.
About The Dolar Shop
The global hot pot brand which was founded in Macau in 2004 is known for rich house-made broths and high-quality ingredients including premium meats and seafood.
Individual Hot Pots
The Dolar Shop differs from other hot pot restaurants as they offer individual, personal hot pots rather than communal hot pots.
The acclaimed broth at The Dolar Shop is labor-intensive and is made with a great amount of quality ingredients.
The Silver Broth, for example, uses 100 pounds of ingredients to yield the same amount of liquid. The ingredients are carefully selected and precisely prepared.
Premium Ingredients
The Dolar Shop sources steakhouse-quality meat from the US and Japan including American Wagyu, USDA Prime Beef, and A5 Japanese Miyazaki beef.
Their signature Shrimp Pâté, which has appeared on almost every table since The Dolar Shop opened, consists of 25 Vietnamese shrimps hand-pounded 200 times into a paste, resulting in every bite containing more than one shrimp.
The Dolar Shop New York City East Village Location
East Village is the first to open in Manhattan and the restaurant is able to seat up to 180 people.
North American Expansion
With North America as a key market, The Dolar Shop has a five-year goal to open 10-15 stores in total in the US.
Neighborhoods like Chelsea and Midtown are on the horizon for the brand’s next stage of expansion.
After expanding to Sydney, Vancouver, Seattle, and Flushing in New York, the brand now has 55 locations worldwide.
