It was another fun night of attending Vancouver Foodster’s Tasting Plates West End edition. Attendees visited 6 participating establishments which included Japanese, Moroccan and South Indian cuisine as well as burgers, sandwiches, pie, kombucha, coffee and more. Here’s a recap of the evening.

Izakaya Gon’s
Newly opened Japanese izakaya, Izakaya Gon’s, presented an array of dishes including Aburi Unagi Oshi- Sushi, Inari Sushi, Premium Waugh Beef Carpaccio, and Seasonal Veggie Mixed Tempura.

Pasture to Plate
Pasture to Plate is a certified organic, biodynamic, ranch-owned, exclusively whole animal butcher shop. Attendees tried their special beef burger with a 3oz certified organic grass-fed marinated beef patty, crispy house-cured bacon, tomato, lettuce, house-made sauces and a sunny side quail egg on special house-made sweet potato bun. The burger was paired with Ethical Soda Kombucha.
Casablanca Crepe
Morrocan creperie, Casablanca Crepe, presented a platter with the following: Moroccan beef couscous topped with caramelized raisins; homemade cheese; Cheesecake Crepe; homemade macaron; Madeline; and spiced Moroccan coffee or mint tea.
