The Rocket Shop is located in Downtown Vancouver and serves gourmet sandwiches, snacks and coffee. This restaurant became known to me through the Belly app where customers accumulate points for rewards after each visit. There was an offer for a free half sandwich and small salad by the Rocket Shop, so I ventured to try out their food for the first time.
The decor of the restaurant was lovely and had a very minimalist feel. The staff person was very friendly and accepted the Belly Bite offer without issue. As it was my first time at the Rocket shop, I asked him for advice on what to pick. I settled on the roast pork sandwich with swiss, sliced pear, rocket, and balsamic mayo. I also went for the quinoa salad with black bean, corn, red pepper and mango. These were served on a wooden board and I seated myself near the window so that I could watch passersby. I enjoyed the sandwich and salad, which were very refreshing and light. I really liked the sliced pear in the sandwich which made the sandwich taste sweet.
One interesting thing is that my meal came with Beechies spearmint chewing gum. I don’t think I have ever been offered gum with a meal!
I enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere of The Rocket Shop. I think this is a place where you would go for a quiet lunch within the busy downtown. I am interesting in trying out their other offerings!
