Riley’s Fish & Steak Vancouver Downtown: Opening Date, Menu, Location

Riley’s Fish & Steak is now open and brings a new fish-and-chophouse dining experience to the heart of downtown Vancouver’s waterfront.

Located at 200 Burrard Street, Riley’s Fish & Steak is a new venture by Glowbal Restaurant Group which own and operate restaurants including Glowbal; Coast; Italian Kitchen; Black + Blue; The Roof; Five Sails; and three Trattoria restaurants in Kitsilano, West Vancouver and Burnaby.

Open seven days a week for dinner service to start with lunch and weekend brunch to follow shortly after, Riley’s will spotlight the very best of the Pacific Northwest’s farms and oceans in an expansive yet intimate space with a full bar, oyster-shucking station, and seating for 240.

The interior, designed by Daniel Meloche, features warm tones that are classic, elegant and textural, and with plenty of room for intimacy.

Riley’s also will offer a separate dining enclave with its own entrance for private events and celebrations and a 100-seat garden patio.

Leading the kitchen team is Executive Chef Jérôme Soubeyrand, who takes the helm after previous stops as Executive Chef at Coast and Executive Sous at Black & Blue. Born and raised in Lyon, France and armed with creativity, classical skills and flair to spare, Soubeyrand honed his craft in no fewer than eight Michelin-starred hotspots across Europe before coming to Vancouver, working alongside such renowned culinary talents as Paul Bocuse, Joël Robuchon, Hélène Darroze and Daniel Boulud.

The chef-driven menu features seafood towers; high-quality steak and chops; an Oyster Bar along with an exceptional selection of wines.

For seafood dishes, there is the Haida Gwaii Halibut Steak; Chinook Salmon Steak; Whiskey Maple Sablefish; Jumbo Tiger Prawns; and Lobster Thermedor.

Behind the pine, Riley’s will feature a selection of local craft beer, one of the city’s largest selection of wines by the glass and bottle hailing from around the world and right here in BC’s backyard, and a carefully curated list of classic and contemporary cocktails available for happy hour and late-night libations for locals and visitors alike.

My Experience

We had a great time at Riley’s where we dined on the beautiful, heated covered patio.

The experience starts with a warm greeting at the entrance, followed by delicious food, and excellent service throughout the meal.

We had The King Seafood tower (with fresh shucked East Coast & West Coast oysters; jumbo poached tiger prawns; snow crab legs; marinated mussels & clams; halibut ceviche; Dungeness crab; Atlantic lobster; and dungeness crab cocktail).

The sommelier even gave us a lovely tour of the upcoming lounge area featuring the fresh oyster bar.
