New Year’s at the Hotel Vancouver + GIVEAWAY

Happening on Thursday, December 31, the party will take over an entire floor of the hotel.  Each of its ballrooms are being turned into pop-up nightclubs that boast unique programming and one ticket gets you into all of these parties. Revellers can expect an extraordinary event that features the crème of Vancouver’s most exciting talent playing and partying in Vancouver’s “Castle in the City”.

This year’s programming is the most ambitious in the history of the party. One major highlight includes a full-on Motown revival in the Pacific Ballroom with performances all night by the Big Sound. The Big Sound is a 30-member soul and gospel orchestra that exploded onto the Canadian music scene 6 years ago as a loving response to the Soul renaissance taking place all over the world. Fronted T Dixon-Noble and Chris Sandes, the ensemble features a rotating army of world-class singers and players who bring the best of the genre to life on the stage. Expect to hear classics from the golden era of Motown and Stax Records by Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Aretha Franklin, Curtis Mayfield, The Supremes, The Temptations, and many many more.

Four more ballrooms boast entertainment for all tastes courtesy of some of the city’s top talent. The British Ballroom will feature hip hop, R&B, and party favourites with Nick Bike, Nina Mendoza, Relly Rels, and Brendan Butter. An all-night dose of house, techno, and disco is sure to get revellers moving with Kevin Shiu, Ingrid Hakanson, Marcello, Abasi, and Glyn behind the decks in the Columbia Ballroom. Christa Belle and Patrick Campbell, from the Fox Cabaret’s Saturday night party LOVE, will turn the Waddington Room into a indie dance party with alternative and pop hits. And the Vancouver Island Room will transformed into a VIP area, complete with a private bar, offerings from the hotel’s award winning kitchen, and speakeasy burlesque performances courtesy of the The Orchid Club.
