The newest addition to the Pacific Centre food court is Edo Japan which opened over a week ago. Founded in Calgary, Alberta, Edo Japan is a Canadian fast food chain specializing in Japanese traditional Teppanyaki style cooking. There are currently over 100 Edo Japan food court and storefront locations across Canada. I visited the newly opened Edo Japan at Pacific Centre recently to try out some of their offerings.

Edo Japan Menu
At Edo Japan, they are committed in using fresh and quality ingredients including choice cuts of Canadian meat, all-natural seafood and garden fresh vegetables that are never frozen. Their meals are made-to-order and never pre-packaged. Customers will enjoy that their dishes are MSG free and there are even healthier options like brown rice, low carb and vegetarian. On the menu are Teppanyaki grill meals, “Noodleful” bowls, sushi, udon soup, bento boxes and more.
The grill at Edo Japan sears meats at 450 degrees, locking in the natural juices and flavor.
The sweet and savoury Teriyaki sauce by Edo Japan is hand made daily using finely chopped garlic, ginger and other freshly prepared ingredients. The sauce is hot and served warm over each stir fried Teppan-style meals. It’s made from a time-honoured recipe that’s a closely guarded secret known by only two people.
Check out my video of the Teppan grill action at Edo Japan:
The Noodlefull bowls are particularly popular at Edo Japan. They are made with veggies, thin ramen-style noodles and your choice of flavourful chicken, beef, shrimp or veggies. Made to order, hot on the Teppan grill, with Edo signature Teriyaki sauce.
One of the speciality dishes I tried was the Salmon and Shrimp which alsocame with mixed vegetables, red and Teriyaki sauce. A tasty option for those wanting seafood.
As for something even healthier, there’s the Fresh Grilled Vegetables Teppan-style meal. This features carrots, broccoli, mushrooms and cabbage.
New to the menu are the Chop Chop Bowls which come with choice of grilled chicken, beef, or crispy tempura shrimp, with rice, raw veggies, and Bulgogi sauce.
