Eataly Yorkville has launched Alpina, a winter pop-up at La Piazza inspired by the Italian Alps. Running through March, the seasonal menu features comforting dishes from Northern Italy, winter cocktails, and a series of events designed to bring the après-ski experience to Toronto.

The Polenta Bar offers stone-ground cornmeal served with options such as ragù di carne, ragù di funghi, salsicce e funghi, short ribs ragù, or würstel. Fonduta di Formaggio, an Italian take on Swiss fondue, is made with Fontina DOP cheese and served with focaccia croutons. Canederli, a Trentino-Alto Adige specialty, features bread and speck gnocchi with Urbani black truffle butter, sage, and Agriform Parmigiano Reggiano DOP. Cotoletta Alla Valdostana, a breaded chicken cutlet from Valle d’Aosta, is stuffed with Mila Alta Badia cheese, Rovagnati Prosciutto Cotto, and sautéed spinach.
The beverage menu includes wines from Northern Italy and winter cocktails such as “Dolomites Glow,” a twist on a hot toddy, and “By The Fire,” featuring rye whisky, Punch Abruzzo, Fernet, hot apple cider, and cinnamon. Non-alcoholic options are available.
Alpina extends beyond dining with a series of themed events, including après-ski aperitivos, an Alpine-inspired brunch, and happy hour specials. La Scuola, Eataly’s cooking school, will offer workshops on Alpine wines, cheeses, and pasta making.
