Don at Kitsilano is a new delicious spot in Vancouver (BC Canada) for a brunch.

They serve modern, West Coast cuisine with Asian influences.

We were invited for a media tasting and tried the following:

We started off with some beautiful, zero-proof drinks: the Yuzu Butterfly and the Lyre’s lime and ginger.

Then we had a delicious duck yolk garlic bread featuring salted duck egg butter on brioche bread.

The must-try item is the cured salmon tartare where you mix in an egg yolk with the salmon tartare and enjoy it with prawn dusted rice crisps.

The honey pear and pecan salad is a refreshing, vegan option with radicchio, kale and a tomato vinaigrette.

But for something hearty, there’s a new item on the menu which is a beef short rib poutine with taters and bonita flakes.

For a sweet brunch entree, the Hennessy French Toast with kaya jam, bacon, pecans and cherries is a good choice.

But if you like a more classic brunch entree, I would recommend the breakfast platter. It comes with sausage patty, maple soy marinated bacon, sour roasted tomato.

I enjoyed the little touches to this dish like these mini taters as well as the cute miso butter on the toast.
We finished off with the Hojicha pecan pastry as desserts with Hojicha jam and pecan crumble.

The interior is very cozy, earthy, aesthetic and comfortable.

I appreciated the creativity in their brunch desserts; the freshness of the ingredients; and the presentation of the dishes.
