Compete at the Canadian Food Championships

Calling all chefs!  Whether you are an amateur cook or a professional chef,  the Canadian Food Championships (CFC) may be the culinary competition for you to showcase your talent.  It all goes down in Downtown Edmonton, Alberta from July 22-24, 2016 in conjunction with Taste of Edmonton.

Launched in 2015, the CFC is the only recognized qualifying competition for Canadians looking to compete in the World Food Championships (WFC) happening this fall in Orange Beach, AL, USA.  Winners of the CFC receive a golden ticket to represent Team Canada at WFC including a $1,500 travel voucher and $2,500 cash.

The 6 categories of competition at CFC include Bacon, Burger, Dessert, Steak, Sandwich, and Seafood.  Each round of competition is timed and the dishes are then judged in a double-blind method.  The top 2 competitors from each category will win a spot on Team Canada and the honour of being one of Canada’s food champions. There is over $50,000 in prize money to be won at CFC and, for those lucky few, an additional $300,000 prize pot up for grabs at WFC!
