For all you tequila lovers out there, meet Cactus Club Cafe‘s new winter cocktail, the Frozen Blood Orange Margarita. Made with 100% Italian blood orange, this new cocktail brings warm thoughts of the patio season ahead. I was invited by Cactus Club Cafe to try out this winter-inspired cocktail at their Coal Harbour location recently.

The concept behind the Frozen Blood Orange Margarita is that it showcases the delicious qualities of this winter fruit. This cocktail is available for a limited time only at regular and happy hour pricing. At Happy Hour, the cocktail is $5.
As for the taste? I quite enjoyed the cool, citrusy blood orange flavour which was strong and aromatic. The blood orange is blended with tequila and Triple Sec. The texture of the drink is very slushy which contributes to its uniqueness as a winter cocktail.
Along with the Frozen Blood Orange Margarita, I enjoyed the tuna stack. It’s one of Cactus Club Cafe’s appetizers featuring Ocean Wise albacore, citrus tamari vinaigrette, nori, sesame, avocado, micro cilantro, and wonton chips.
Another delicious starter I had was the Rob Feeni creation, Ravioli and Prawn Trio. One of my all-time favourite dishes at Cactus Club Cafe which has butternut squash and mascarpone ravioli, truffle butter sauce, sautéed jumbo prawns, and pine nuts.
The tasting occurred at Cactus Club Coal Harbour which features panoramic views of the Coal Harbour.
