Tea at the Fairmont Empress Extends Evening Hours

Tea at the Empress at Fairmont Empress has extended their service into the evening and introduced new spirited cocktails in the hotel’s Lobby Lounge.

Tea at the Fairmont Empress Extends Evening Hours

The updated hours give guests more opportunities to experience one of Victoria’s best-known afternoon tea traditions. Tea at the Empress is now available Monday to Wednesday from 11 am to 7 pm, and Thursday to Sunday from 11 am to 9 pm.

The evening service brings a new cocktail element to the tea experience, including the Sterling Martini, made with Tito’s Vodka or Sheringham Seaside Gin, dry vermouth, blue cheese, olive brine, and umami bitters. The cocktail is served ice cold and brings a savoury profile to the new lineup.

Guests can also try The Silk Glove, a clarified cocktail made with Empress 1908 Elderflower Rose Gin, lychee almond, jasmine pearl tea, and whey, served over a king cube.

The cocktail list also includes familiar options such as Veuve Clicquot Champagne and the hotel’s signature Empress 75.

The expanded hours add more flexibility for visitors and locals looking to experience Tea at the Empress later in the day. The Lobby Lounge overlooks Victoria’s Inner Harbour, making the evening service especially suited to guests planning tea around travel schedules, theatre, dinner plans, or a later visit to downtown Victoria.

Tea at the Empress has been part of the hotel’s story for more than a century. The service continues to draw travellers, families, and local guests to the historic hotel, where afternoon tea remains one of the defining experiences at Fairmont Empress.

Fairmont Empress is located at 721 Government Street, Victoria, BC.
