Fairmont Waterfront, Vancouver Launches Dinner and Movie Night

Fairmont Waterfront is launching Waterfront Cinema Presents, a new dinner and film series debuting with Mamma Mia! on Friday, November 13. Tickets are $115 per person for an evening combining the screening with a four-course menu and Greek taverna-inspired décor.

Executive Chef Harris Sakalis will draw on his Greek heritage for the inaugural dinner, combining traditional Mediterranean recipes with ingredients from the Pacific Northwest harvest. Courses will be served throughout the film, with guests seated at dining tables.

The menu includes shared Mezzes with pita and house-made spreads, Grilled Octopus, Crispy Zucchini and Osso Buco. Pistachio Baklava finishes the meal, and the experience includes a traditional pour of ouzo served over ice.

A dedicated bar and classic cinema concessions, including fresh popcorn, will be available during the evening. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the screening beginning at 7 p.m.

Waterfront Cinema Presents builds each event around the featured film, using food, drinks and décor to carry the theme into the dining room. The Mamma Mia! debut takes inspiration from the movie’s Greek island setting.

The series will continue throughout 2027. Planned screenings include Pretty Woman for Valentine’s Day, Pride & Prejudice in the spring, Beetlejuice for Halloween and Home Alone during the holiday season. Each film will have a corresponding culinary theme.

Tickets for the November 13 Mamma Mia! dinner and screening are available through the hotel’s event booking link.
