HEINZ Launches Six Ready-to-Eat Soups in Canada

HEINZ is introducing a new ready-to-eat soup collection exclusively in Canada, with six recipes packaged in easy-to-open bags. The range is rolling out nationwide this month, offering an alternative to canned soup for workday lunches and meals at home.

The launch marks the brand’s first entry into Canada’s ready-to-eat soup category. According to HEINZ, they are the first major brand to introduce ready-to-eat soup in a portable bag to Canadian consumers.

The collection requires no extra ingredients or can opener. The bag format changes the packaging, with recipes ranging from chicken noodle to coconut curry and vegetable-based options.

Homestyle Chicken Noodle brings a familiar soup recipe to the lineup. Thai Style Chicken Coconut Curry offers a coconut curry option for shoppers seeking a different flavour from traditional chicken soup.

Hearty Tomato and White Bean combines tomato and white beans, and Cheesy Potato adds a cheese-and-potato option to the collection.

Rich Mushroom and Curry Butternut Squash complete the six-recipe range. The selection expands the brand’s soup offerings beyond their existing canned tomato soup.

HEINZ describes the collection as having rich flavours and hearty textures, with vegetables incorporated into the recipes. The soups are intended to offer a convenient option for Canadians who want a prepared meal without making soup from scratch.

The launch enters a category still largely associated with cans. NielsenIQ figures cited by HEINZ indicate that more than 80 per cent of ready-to-eat and condensed soup is sold in cans, and 76 per cent of Canadians purchase soup.
