Vancouver Foodster Holiday Market took place last week and attendees spent a night of holiday-themed tastings at several markets from South Granville to False Creek to Kitsilano. Each market featured multiple vendors serving up a wide selection of savoury and sweets, plus beverages for guests to enjoy. I attended the event as media and here is a brief recap of the evening.
We started off the tasting at Meinhardt Fine Foods in South Granville which offers imported food products from around the world, including a large selection of prepared foods in the deli case. Other featured vendors were ARC Iberico (Fresh cut ham), Terra Foods (European Holiday Snacks), JusTea (Ethically Traded Tea), Maureen (Rum Cakes + Fruit Sauces), Sal de Ibiza (Spanish Salts, Chips, Chocolate, Nuts), Paw Paw’s Cocktail Cherries, and Lloyd James (Plant Based Whole Grain Crackers).
A multi-vendor showcase of local food and beverages took place at Milano Coffee Roasters. Other vendors included Faculty Brewing (collaboration beer with Milano Coffee ), Jonny Hetherington JH Essentials (hot sauces and ketchup), Whipped and Beaten (baked goods), Livia Sweets (small batch sweets, and organic sourdough), Flowers by Hayat’s Garden (salads), Gastown Foodie (Cookbooks by Brad Hill) and Olympia Komianos (jewelry).
Silk Road Tea imports and blends organic, premium loose teas, and produces organic skincare, haircare & bodycare products. They offered a few teas to sample.
