Tropical Produce is a family-owned and operated produce wholesaler based out of Surrey that recently started offering home delivery of produce boxes.
Each pre-packed box priced at $35 comes with apples, bananas, celery, carrots, cantaloupe, cucumber, assorted bell peppers, onions, oranges, potatoes and tomatoes. You also select for two addons from either eggplant, broccoli, kale, romaine, cauliflower, or zuchinni.
You can expect fresher produce and cost savings compared to buying from grocery stores.
I received my media box yesterday and was impressed with the freshness of the produce.
In terms of pricing, I estimate the cost savings to be around 20 percent based on what I would normally pay for those items at a grocery store. We all know the price of food is going up so it’s nice to see great value in what they are offering.
There are also the added benefits/savings of not having to go shopping myself and having it conveniently delivered to my home (included in the price, additional $5 delivery charge for North Van, Maple Ridge, Abbotsford, Aldergrove, Port Moody).
I also bought a box to give to my neighbour as she has been a great neighbour! She’s a senior and has found it more challenging to go and shop at grocery stores since the pandemic so I think this service would be great for her.
