This past week, I ordered their Family Meal package for 4 ($89) which included the following:

  • Miso Veggie Chowder x 2
  • Brussel Sprout Salad x 2
  • Yuzu Pomme Puree x 2
  • Sake Braised Beef Shanks
  • Soy Braised Pork Belly
  • Whole Fried Market Fish

The Miso Veggie Chowder featured cabbage, carrots, fingerling potatoes, and Japanese Kabocha squash.

The Everyday I’m Brusselin’ salad featured brussel sprouts, cauliflower, broccoli, black bean balsamic vinaigrette, crispy chick peas, quinoa and roasted almonds.

The Yuzu Pomme Puree was an elevated creamy mashed potato with Japanese yuzu peel and housed yuzu butter.

The Sake Braised Beef Shanks were utterly melt-in-your-mouth delicious and went well with the Yuzu Pomme Puree.

The Kakuni style soy-braised pork belly is one of the most popular dishes on the Torafuku menu and it’s very comforting to enjoy this dish at home.

The deep-fried whole market fish came with a tamarind and sweet sour sauce (nicely sweet and sour), crispy soy beans crumbles and mixed herbs. The fish was very tender and you could just pick at it using your chopsticks.

I certainly loved all the bold flavours from the dishes included in Torafuku’s family package and thought the portions were very reasonable for the price.

All the food reheated nicely and it really made me feel like I was eating at the restaurant again. A lot of the food conveniently came in pre-packaged, sealed bags and you could directly just reheat the bags in hot water.
