Happy Canada Day long weekend everyone! Yesterday, I topped off the celebrations with a visit to Tim Hortons for some refreshing Iced Capps. Did you know that Tim Hortons has a few new Iced Capp flavours? The Salted Caramel Ice Capp was introduced last month and the Chocolate Chip Iced Capp was launched a few months earlier. I tried the classic, the Salted Caramel and Chocolate Chip Iced Capps side by side. Here are my thoughts on the new Tim Hortons Iced Capp flavours.

Tim Hortons Salted Caramel Iced Capp
Ingredients: The Salted Caramel Iced Capp is a blended frozen coffee beverage featuring the brand’s signature base and cream blended with caramel syrup. Topped with whipped cream and salted caramel drizzle.
Appearance: My drink lacked the sexy caramel drizzle which was presented in the official promotional photos.
Taste: At first sip, the salted caramel flavours really came through although it was more sweet than salty. The saltiness was very subtle so, in all, it tasted more like a caramel Iced Capp. Nevertheless, I thought the drink had a reasonable amount of sweetness and was drinkable.
Nutrition: A small size with cream has 370 calories; a medium has 510 calories; a large has 660 calories. This information is gathered using the Tim Hortons app as the website does not contain nutrition info for these speciality drinks. You can also reduce the calories in the drink by ordering 2% milk instead of cream.
Price: A small is $2.99; medium is $3.69; a large is $4.29. Based on pricing at Tim Hortons locations in Vancouver, BC.
Overall: 3.5/5
Tim Hortons Chocolate Chip Iced Capp
Ingredients: The Chocolate Chip Iced Capp is a blended frozen coffee beverage featuring the brand’s signature base and cream blended with chocolate syrup. Topped with whipped cream and mini chocolate chips.
Appearance: I liked the mini chocolate chips as a topping. The ones in my drink looked pretty much the same as the ones in the ad for the drink.
Taste: I found the Chocolate Chip Iced Capp to have just about the right amount of chocolate flavour without it being too rich and decadent. The mini chocolate chips were not of high-quality chocolate and had a waxy texture. I found the chocolate to taste better after melting them a bit in my mouth. It’s definitely more of a dessert drink than the classic Iced Capp.
Nutrition: The Chocolate Chip Iced Capp has more calories than the Salted Caramel Iced Capp. A small with cream has 420 calories; a medium has 600 calories; a large has 720 calories. This information is gathered using the Tim Hortons app as the website does not contain nutritio info for these speciality drinks. You can also reduce the calories in the drink by ordering 2% milk instead of cream.
Price: A small is $2.99; medium is $3.69; a large is $4.29. Based on pricing at Tim Hortons locations in Vancouver, BC.
Overall: 4/5 – I would order this again.
Bottom Line
I enjoyed the Tim Hortons Chocolate Chip Iced Capp more than the Salted Caramel flavour. The classic Iced Capp would still be my go-to version as it is more refreshing and lighter on calories. However, for a more desserty type of drink, the Chocolate Chip Iced Capp would do.
