It was another fun night of attending Vancouver Foodster’s Tasting Plates North Vancouver edition. Attendees visited 5 participating establishments offering plant-based dishes plus pizza, meatballs, scones, mini doughnuts and other treats, cinnamon bun ice cream sandwiches, Japanese chocolate truffles and more. Here’s a recap of the evening.

Alberello Pizzeria
This family-run gem features a line-up of authentic Italian pizzas where the dough is made daily with Caputo 00 flour, hand-tossed to 12″, and baked in their stone oven. Our tasting plate featured the following:
- Verde Noce (pesto sauce, walnut, roasted peppers, oyster mushroom sautéed in garlic oil, caramelized onion, mozzarella, fresh goat cheese, and basil)
- Salsiccia (tomato sauce, our home-made fennel sausage, mozzarella, caramelized onion & roasted red pepper)
- Home-made meatball in a succulent tomato sauce

Butter Lane Bake Shop
Newly opened inside the Lonsdale Quay Public Market, Butter Lake Bake Shop is a run by a mother-daughter team. For the event, they offered an Earl grey donut, scones with clotted cream and jam, and gluten free carrot cake topped with a cream cheese buttercream.
