Tacofino Burrito Bar

Tacofino Burrito Bar

I ventured to Tacofino’s Gastown Burrito Bar which opened last month for some burrito love on two occasions.  This post contains my cumulative thoughts from both times.

Tacofino Burrito Bar

Tacofino’s Burrito bar decor can be described as hipster meets Gastown chic.  The ceilings are high, the space is bright, and beautiful tiles make the floor eye-catching.  The seemingly small kitchen has lots of staff working.  They only have one taco available, which is the fish taco (tempura ling cod) for $5.  Fish, vegetarian and vegan burritos are $10 while the crispy chicken and chorizo burritos are $11.  Any burrito can be turned into a bowl.

The food from the burrito bar is meant to be take aways but they have a small space for people to dine in.

On the first visit, I had the fish burrito in a bowl.  The fish was very crispy and came with a heap of toppings.  The burrito bowl was very yummy overall.

The second visit, I had the crispy chicken burrito which was oh-so-good!  This chicken was definitely *crispy *and the burrito was very filling.  I happily devoured this burrito and am looking forward to ordering it again.

I also ordered the chorizo burrito bowl as take away for my husband to try.  It is my least favorite burrito perhaps because I generally do not like the taste of chorizo; I find the chorizo taste too strong for my liking.  However, my husband did enjoy it.

The staff seemed friendly as they thanked me as I left the restaurant on both visits.  The price seemed reasonable since I felt satisfied with the ingredient quality and quantity of the burritos.  The taco bar side, which is a sit-down restaurant, is only open during the evenings; I would be interested in trying it out in the future.  For some quick burrito eats in Gastown, I would recommend Tacofino.
