“Every act of kindness grows the spirit and strengthens the soul.” This past week, Starbucks and Lady Gaga collaborated on the Cups of Kindness collection. The collection included the refreshing drinks fro the summer: Matcha Lemonade, Ombré Pink Drink and Violet Drink. For every drink purchased until June 19, Starbucks would donate $0.25 to the Lady Gaga Born This Way Foundation and the Channel Kindness project. It was a great opportunity to hit English Bay with these vibrant drinks to help give young people the resources and opportunities they need to help change the world — one act of kindness at a time.
Disclosure: All drinks in this review were complimentary. Opinions are my own.
The Ombré Pink Drink combines light, fruity Cool Lime Starbucks Refreshers beverage with cool, creamy coconutmilk and a splash of Teavana Shaken Iced Passion Tango Tea, for a bright burst of hibiscus. See previous review here. A Grande version is $4.95.
The Violet Drink features sweet blackberries and tart hibiscus of the Very Berry Hibiscus Starbucks Refreshers beverage swirled together with creamy coconutmilk and ice, creating refreshing (and violet-hued!) sips. The Grande is $4.95.
The Matcha Lemonade combines finely ground Teavana matcha green tea with crisp lemonade and then shaken with ice to create a refreshingly sweet, delicious drink that’s a delightfully vibrant, green hue. This drink was my favourite of the three drinks because I really liked the zesty flavour of it. The Grande size is $3.95.
And if you haven’t heard, Lady Gaga herself became a Starbucks barista for a day to promote the collaboration:
