Saturday, September 1 to Friday, September 7: Le Burger Week

Canada’s week-long burger-focused festival Le Burger Week is back this month with nine restaurants across the city offering special stacks in honour of the occasion. This year, chefs from Bells and Whistles, Fable Diner, Pourhouse and many more Vancouver venues will be serving their own creative, over-the-top variations on the classic patty-and-bun combo. Throughout the festival, burger fans are encouraged to vote for their favourite Le Burger Week burgers in a variety of categories including Most Creative, Healthiest Burger and People’s Choice.

Friday, September 14 to Sunday, September 16: Culmina Fifth Anniversary Weekend

This September, Chef Alex Chen of Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar is heading to Oliver, BC to take part in a special Collaborative Chefs’ Dinner during the Fifth Anniversary Weekend Celebration at Culmina Family Estate Winery. The three-day celebration includes a kick-off ‘Open Deck’ party at the winery, a Collaborative Chefs’ Dinner featuring Chen and Executive Chef Mark Filatow of Kelowna’s Waterfront Wines Restaurant, and a farewell brunch. Sunday, September 16: Vancouver Chefs Present ‘A Night at the Museum’

Four of Vancouver’s top chefs are teaming up for a Night at the Museum themed pop-up dinner at Mak N Ming on Sunday, September 16. During this creative culinary mash-up, Ian McHale (Wildebeest), Sean Reeve (Mackenzie Room), Jeremy Kersche (Fable) and Brian Luptak (Acorn) will work in tandem to prepare a special six-course tasting menu inspired by the works of famous artists, including Salvador Dali, Van Gogh and Andy Warhol.  Colourful and creative dishes will be paired with featured wines from Kelowna’s Hatch Winery.  Tickets are priced at $185 per person and are available via Eventbrite.

Wednesday, September 26 — Passions 2018 Gala

Vancouver foodies can sample culinary creations from the city’s top restaurants, bakeries and caterers alongside wines hailing from New Zealand at the 2018 edition of the annual Passions Gala in support of the Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation.  This year’s list of participating restaurants includes Boulevard Kitchen and Oyster Bar, Joe Fortes, CinCin and Maenam.  The elegant fundraising event takes place at Performance Works on Granville Island.
