One great family-friendly restaurant in South Surrey is Rocky Mountain Flatbread which opened up last summer. I’ve always been a fan of the brand which is known for the kid-friendly atmosphere, fresh local and natural ingredients, healthy food, and a welcoming environment.
Suzy Basra, who has a background in food and hospitality, opened up Rocky Mountain Flatbread South Surrey as she was a fan of the brand; it was her go-to restaurant with her family.
She saw that Surrey was lacking a great family restaurant with natural fresh organic ingredients along with vegan-friendly, gluten-wise and nut-free options. So, she decided to open up a location of Rocky Mountain Flatbread in the area.

The menu at Rocky Mountain Flatbread is about farm-to-table freshness, local ingredients featuring a wide selection of delicious pizzas, pastas and salads.
They work with many local farmers including Rabbit Rivers Farm in Richmond for organic free range eggs, Birchwood Dairy Farm for milk, Anita’s Organic Mill for flour and veggies from local farmers in the valley.
Rocky Mountain Flatbread South Surrey also works with local craft breweries including Four Winds Brewery in Ladner; Twin Sails in Port Moody; Steel & Oak in New Westminster – and coffee from Republica Coffee Roasters from Fort Langley.

You’ll find the interior of the Rocky Mountain Flatbread South Surrey to be very chic and polished featuring charred reclaimed fir ceilings, long table, bar tops as well as custom finishes. A lot of thought has been put into the details.
What We Tried
On my media visit to Rocky Mountain Flatbread South Surrey, I enjoyed their special features. These included a warming carrot and ginger soup; the Farmer’s Market pizza (organic tomato sauce, mozzarella, spaghetti squash, crimini mushrooms, compari tomatoes); and the Rotini in a Rose Sauce (with sauteed onions, shitake msurhooms, carrots, snap peas and chicken).
Rocky Mountain Flatbread Surrey also offers a range of house cocktails, craft bottles, craft beers on tap, BC VQA wines, and house made drinks.
I continue to be a fan of Rocky Mountain Flatbread and would recommend you to visit any of their restaurants. In Vancouver, they have locations on Main Street and Kitsilano. In South Surrey, find them at Unit 105, 5570 152nd Street.
