MR.SUB has been a familiar name to Canadians since 1968, offering subs, wraps, soups and salads made to order. With more than 280 locations across the country, the menu balances classic choices with more flavour-forward combinations.

On a recent visit, I tried a mix of new and traditional offerings. The NEW Fiery Pineapple Jerk Chicken sub layers juicy chicken with pineapple, coleslaw and swiss-style cheese, finished with mango habanero and jerk sauce and toasted on the grill. The heat from the sauces paired well with the sweetness of the pineapple, while the coleslaw added freshness and texture.

The Albacore Tuna sub was simple but hits the spot with tuna mixed with mayonnaise. It was creamy and familiar, the kind of sub that works well when you want comfort without fuss.

The Turkey sub offered quality slices of turkey and was solid overall.

Dining at MR.SUB is about choice, whether it is exploring bold combinations like jerk chicken with pineapple or sticking with dependable classics like tuna or turkey. I appreciated how each sub highlighted its key ingredients, allowing the flavours to come through without being overwhelmed.

Look out for daily value deals on select subs, which give guests the chance to enjoy popular choices at a discount. These rotating offers highlight different menu items throughout the week, making it easy to try a variety of flavours.

I visited the location at 2300 Islington Avenue, Etobicoke where the staff were friendly, experienced and the overall dining experience was excellent.
