McDonald’s Canada is bringing the McVeggie sandwich to menus nationwide on September 16 following a strong response to a regional test earlier this year in British Columbia, Ontario, and New Brunswick.

Designed for Canadian tastes, the sandwich is made with a breaded vegetable patty containing carrots, green beans, zucchini, peas, soybeans, broccoli, and corn. The patty is paired with shredded lettuce and a mayo-style sauce on a toasted sesame bun.

For those wanting more heat, the Spicy Habanero McVeggie offers the same vegetable patty with the addition of a creamy habanero sauce. Both versions are available à la carte or as part of an Extra Value Meal with McDonald’s fries prepared from Canadian potatoes.

The national rollout reflects the company’s effort to expand inclusive menu choices. The McVeggie joins the Grilled Cheese Happy Meal and the Lettuce and Tomato Snack Wrap Happy Meal, which will also be available starting September 16. Earlier this year, McDonald’s added oat beverage for select McCafé drinks, broadening options for guests who prefer non-dairy alternatives.

McDonald’s has been steadily growing their menu to reflect evolving preferences, and the arrival of the McVeggie is part of this approach. Guests looking for a plant-focused option can now find it on the permanent menu across the country.
