Fresh St Market at Vancouver House Now Open

Fresh St Market just opened their fifth location in Metro Vancouver and first in Vancouver proper at Vancouver House.

Located at 1423 Continental Street, the Vancouver House location of Fresh St Market is open 7 am – 11 pm every day.

As a resident of the neighbourhood, I am very excited to finally have a local grocery store near me. Here are some photos of my walkabout the store yesterday.

The store also has an in-store 50 seat restaurant Fork Life Kitchen & Bar. They offer a range of burgers from classic, chicken, veggie and more. The restaurant also offers craft beer and wine.

The restaurants looks to be a counter-order type with a separate seating area for customers.

At the end of my grocery run, I also picked up their Mile High Cinnamon Bun.

I had heard good things about these buns and oh, it was good! Freshly baked in-store and you could see the staff putting on the cream cheese in the bakery. $3.49 for each bun. I would definitely recommend giving it a try!

While you’re in the area, you might want to check out the Spinning Chandelier. Spinning Chandelier is a public-art component of Vancouver House.

Costing nearly $5 million dollars, the 18th-century-style chandelier is made of stainless steel, LED lights and 600 polyurethane crystals by Walla Walla Foundry in Washington State. It weighs more than 3,400 kilograms and measures 7.8-by-4.3 metres.
