Looking for a place to enjoy a picnic around Vancouver? Food delivery service company, foodora, has created a Vancouver map consisting of bike routes that go through scenic places and some restaurants on the foodora platform and ends at a picnic location. Participating restaurants have a special pickup menu for the picnic week (June 19 – 25). This week, they sent me to experience a picnic of my own to Harbour Green Park located at the edge of Coal Harbour at W Cordova Street and Bute Street). One of the participating restaurant is The Bubble Tea Shop and they are offering their newly available Lightbulb Cups in lychee, strawberry, and mango flavours ($8.95).
Harbour Green Park is a rather picturesque setting with rolling lawns and waterfront views. There is even a spray park for kids to enjoy during the summer. The park has dedicated pedestrian and bike paths along the seawall. You can even watch the floatplanes arrive and depart.
And of course, pets are welcome (on leash) so I brought my dog, Aapik, to enjoy the sights and sounds of the park. She’s 7 years old and a mutt (in case you were wondering!).
The Bubble Tea Shop just launched these whimsically presented drinks Lightbulb Cups. In fact, they come with a battery-operated flashing light but it is hard to see in the daytime. From left to right, the flavour are lychee, strawberry and mango. My favourite was the lychee which tasted quite like the fruit.
And what makes a good pairing for a refreshing summer drink? Bubble waffles 🙂 I also picked up an espresso mochi waffle and matcha mochi waffle ($5.25 each).
