Firehouse Subs is inviting Canadians to their restaurants on October 4 for Touch-the-Truck events held during National Fire Prevention Week. More than 80 locations will welcome families to see fire trucks up close, meet local firefighters and learn fire safety practices. The initiative reflects the mission of the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation of Canada, which has donated over $5 million in lifesaving equipment to first responders nationwide.

Canadian firefighter and navy veteran Kevin Wendt is serving as ambassador for the campaign. Wendt, whose own station once received a grant from the Foundation, will be visiting his local restaurant to encourage families to participate. Guests can also support October’s First Responders Month by purchasing anniversary medallions in $2, $5 or $10 denominations, with proceeds funding grants for essential tools such as drones, smoke alarms and other public safety equipment.
Touch-the-Truck events are a way for communities to engage directly with frontline workers while learning safety precautions that can help in emergencies. Participating restaurants can be found through firehousesubs.ca.
