After undergoing renovation and new ownership, Fiordilatte Gelateria in Burnaby Heights has now reopened as Fiordilatte Cafe offering an expanded menu of in-house baked goods and house-made gelato.
FDL Cafe is chef-owned and operated by Alex Radjenovic. Chef Alex had worked out of YVR Prep and sold at Farmer’s Markets with his products being so popular they were drawing lineups and customers asking for more. He took over ownership of the gelateria and added his line of baked goods.
At FDL Cafe, you’ll find artisanal baking, house-made gelato, gourmet sandwiches, and specialty coffee.
Some of the delectable pastries include apple turnovers, blackberry danishes, cinnamon pecan rolls and raspberry chocolate croissants.
They also offer a variety of elevated, gourmet sandwiches like the Green Goddess Sandwich, Mojo Cubano Sandwich, London Brisket Sandwich and more. The sandwiches feature freshly smoked meats and breads that is baked in-house.

Their coffee is by Detour Coffee based in Hamilton, ON.
I popped into FDL Cafe this past weekend to grab some pastries and bread to go:

- Croissant
- Zucchini Pita
- Sour Cherry Turnover
- Lepina Bread
- Cherry Tart

Everything was delicious and I loved all the ones with fruits. The croissant was wonderfully buttery, crispy and flaky.
But I personally loved the fruit tarts and danishes!
The zucchini pita was a nice savoury option as was the Lepina bread (kind of a salty pita).
Definitely recommend checking them out and I will return to try out more of their offerings.
FDL is currently open for takeout and is open from 10 am – 6 pm.
