We had an amazing weekend at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel in Seattle recently and got to experience the fun and delicious things the hotel has to offer (along with a few surprises!).
The Fairmont Olympic Hotel Seattle is an iconic destination in the city’s Downtown.
The hotel underwent a $25 million restoration beginning January 2020 which includes elevating the main lobby, a new signature restaurant, improved event spaces, a trendy main bar; a hidden bar-behind-a-bookcase and more.
The guests rooms and corridors were renovated in 2016, which makes the total update project of the hotel of around $50 million.
The hotel is positioned perfectly for you explore Seattle with landmarks nearby including Pike Place Market; Seattle Aquarium; Argosy Cruises at Seattle Waterfront and more.
There’s much to do at the property as well so you’ll never find a boring moment when staying at the Fairmont Olympic.

Here’s what you could look forward to when staying at the Fairmont Olympic.
Luxurious Fairmont Olympic Hotel Guest Rooms
The Fairmont Olympic Hotel has 450 luxurious and sophisticated guestrooms and suites that are perfect for the modern traveler for no matter what occasion – business, vacation or a getaway weekend.
We stayed in the Executive King Suite featuring one elegantly furnished bedroom with a spacious marble bathroom, rainfall shower and Le Labo amenities. The bedroom is separated from the sitting area by soft-close sliding barn-style doors.
Dine at The George
The George is the new signature restaurant at the Fairmont Olympic.
This modern, inspired brasserie celebrates the bounty of the Pacific Northwest including fresh seafood from local waters, dry-aged meats, and more.
We visited them for dinner and enjoyed the Carman Ranch Bone In Striploin; Bouillabaisse (mussels, clams, scallops, prawn, fresh catch, rouille); Pacific Octopus a la Plancha; kid’s cheeseburgers and a baked Alaska to finish off a fantastic meal.
All the dishes were fresh, delicious and beautifully executed while service was friendly and top-notch.
The restaurant is very busy so be sure to make a reservation whether you are staying at the hotel or not.
Sip at The Olympic Bar
The Olympic Bar is the trendy, signature bar at the hotel which makes the main focal point on the lobby.
There you will find a refined cocktail culture featuring handcrafted cocktails and spirits from local distilleries and wines from the region.
Founder’s Club Seattle
Visit the exclusive Founder’s Club Seattle tucked behind a bookcase in the lobby.
Check out my overview video below:
By reservation only, the Founder’s Club has a secluded and serene social club feel inspired by the 1920s speakeasy culture. An all-new, exclusive Seattle experience.
At this intimate spirit drinker’s enclave, you’ll find fun creative drinks and cocktail displays by some of the city’s top bartenders.
One interesting thing is that they can shave ice into diamond shapes for your drink!
Pinkies Up for Afternoon Tea at Fairmont Olympic Hotel
Get your pinkies up for a sophisticated Afternoon Tea in the lobby environment with steaming pots of loose-leaf tea, sumptuous tea sandwiches, delicious scones and delicate pastries.
We loved the afternoon tea selection featuring Classic & Cranberry Scones; Chive Egg Salad; Cucumber with Boursin Cheese; Crab Profiterole; Smoked Salmon Sandwich; Shaved Striploin Sandwich; Classic Ginger Mousse Cake; Lemon Meringue Tartlet; Almond Croccantini and more.
They also offer a children’s set with delectable items including Chocolate Chip Scone; tea sandwiches (Black Forest Ham with Cheddar and Peanut Butter & Banana); Strawberry Cream Cheese Tartines; Cheesecake Pop; Mini Funfetti Cupcake and Chocolate Mousse Cake.
Stay Active
Stay active at the the Fairmont Olympic Hotel Health Club featuring a heated indoor pool, hot tub and sauna and up-to-date equipment and free weights.
Soak in their 104 degree hot tub or take a swim in their 28C indoor heated swimming pool.
Stay fit with their fitness center with treadmills, bikes, cross trainers, weight equipment and more.
I burned off some calories on one of their Peloton bikes!
Coffee Fix at 4th Ave Expresso Bar
Located in the lower lobby of Fairmont Olympic, 4th Avenue Espresso Bar is the place to go for great coffee and homemade sweet and savory bites and delights.
Guests staying at the hotel get a $5 credit per night to spend at 4th Avenue Espresso Bar as part of the Urban Experience Fee.
Overall, we loved staying at the Olympic Fairmont Hotel. The property offers a great taste of Seattle which having to leave to hotel. From a comfortable guest room to delicious, refined dining experiences, the Fairmont Olympic Hotel makes the ideal place to visit in Seattle.
