The season begins with the Edmonton International Jazz Festival from June 21 to 29, featuring international performers in venues ranging from intimate clubs to larger concert halls. Now in its 40th year, the event remains a key part of the city’s cultural programming.

From July 4 to 13, the Edmonton International Street Performers Festival returns to downtown. More than 1,500 outdoor shows from global performers will animate the streets with live theatre, acrobatics, and comedy. The following weekend, July 11 to 13, the Whyte Avenue Art Walk brings hundreds of artists outdoors to sell and create work in the heart of Old Strathcona.

Food lovers will find Taste of Edmonton running from July 17 to 27 at Sir Winston Churchill Square, featuring hundreds of local dishes from restaurants and food trucks. K-Days also returns July 18 to 25 with amusement rides, concerts, fireworks, and the Indigenous Experience pavilion, continuing a tradition that dates back to 1879.

From August 2 to 4, the Edmonton Heritage Festival showcases over 85 cultures with international food booths, live performances, and interactive displays across 60 pavilions. On August 7 to 10, Gallagher Park hosts the Edmonton Folk Music Festival, with local and international artists performing in a scenic outdoor venue.

North America’s largest fringe festival, the Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival, runs August 14 to 24 in Old Strathcona with more than 1,600 performances. The season continues with Symphony Under the Sky from August 20 to 23, where the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra performs open-air concerts with a blend of classical and contemporary music.

The schedule closes with the Edmonton International Film Festival from September 25 to October 5. Held at Landmark Cinemas, it screens independent films from Canada and abroad and is recognized as an Oscar-qualifying event.
