Din Tai Fung is entering the Arizona market with a new location in Scottsdale, marking the brand’s first restaurant in the state and expanding their North American presence.

The restaurant will open at 7014 E Camelback Road in Scottsdale Fashion Square, with a soft opening beginning March 12. Service will start as reservation only with the full menu available. Reservations are now open through the company’s website. A phased rollout will follow, with takeout beginning March 16, delivery launching March 30, and walk in service and phone orders starting April 6. The grand opening is scheduled for April 20.
The Scottsdale location represents the brand’s 20th restaurant in North America and is part of a broader global footprint of more than 165 locations. The expansion brings more than 300 new jobs to the Greater Scottsdale area, including front and back of house roles such as servers, cooks, and bartenders.
The 10,000 square foot restaurant will seat 340 guests and reflects a design that balances Taiwanese heritage with a modern dining environment. The space incorporates warm tones, wood accents, and textured materials such as stone and glass. A central sculptural tree anchors the dining room, while banquette seating creates smaller, more intimate areas throughout. An enclosed bar features wood detailing and amber tile, drawing subtle inspiration from the surrounding desert landscape.
Din Tai Fung is known for their precise approach to Xiao Long Bao, with each dumpling crafted using an 18 fold technique and a consistent weight standard. The menu will include established dishes such as Xiao Long Bao, Cucumber Salad, Spicy Wontons, String Beans with Garlic, and Chocolate & Mochi Xiao Long Bao. Beverage offerings include items like the Pear Lychee Martini. The Scottsdale opening will also introduce Steak Fried Noodles, a new dish that is expected to expand to other locations later this year.
The brand, founded in Taiwan in 1958 and later transformed into a dumpling and noodle shop, continues to operate as a family run business. Their reputation has been built on consistency, technique, and a focus on hospitality across all locations.
A second Arizona location is already planned for Chandler Fashion Center, continuing the company’s growth in the region.
