The BC Seafood Festival will be held next month from June 8 – 17 featuring new events and celebrations including celebrity chef demonstrations (over 40 local and international celebrity chefs), incredible seafood tastings, interactive & educational displays, and competitions. I attended a media launch event this past week aboard Pacific Yacht.
Guests indulged in wine and seafood tastings from Chef Mardy Ra of Pacific Yacht, met participating celebrity chefs, and learned how to shuck and chuck oysters on the yacht’s sky deck.
One of the competitions at this year’s BC Seafood Festival is the famous Fanny Bay Oyster Shucking Competition.
The Lobsterman from Granville Island delivered a fresh load of spot prawns for the event. It was a heavenly indulgence for attendees.
Chef Ned Bell exemplified how we would feel if we were holding a bowl of steaming hot spot prawns. Guests happily devoured the spot prawns after this.
Chef Caitlin Mark of H2 Restaurant created a delicious seafood paella made with squid, scallops, prawns, clams, chorizo, and white wine.
Attendees also enjoyed wine tasting as well as the passed canapes.
Chef Nathan Fong, who is Executive Producer for the festival, introducing some of the participating chefs.
