Dunkin’ is returning to Canada through a new master franchising agreement between Foodtastic and Inspire Brands, with plans to open hundreds of locations across the country.

The agreement gives Foodtastic exclusive rights to develop Dunkin’ in Canada through both corporate and franchise-operated restaurants. The first Canadian location is expected to open in late 2026 or early 2027, with more details on the initial market rollout to be announced as development moves ahead.

The Canadian menu is expected to include hot and iced coffees, espresso beverages, teas, donuts, sandwiches, and snacks. The return gives Canadian guests access to one of the world’s most recognized coffee and donut brands, while adding another major quick-service concept to Foodtastic’s national portfolio.
Foodtastic will oversee market development, franchisee recruitment, and Canadian operations for Dunkin’. The Montreal-based company operates more than 1,200 restaurant locations across Canada and has a portfolio that includes Second Cup Café, Freshii, Quesada, Pita Pit, Milestones, and other restaurant brands.

The Dunkin’ expansion also builds on Foodtastic’s existing relationship with Inspire Brands, following their work on growing Jimmy John’s in Canada. Inspire Brands is the parent company behind Dunkin’, Baskin-Robbins, Arby’s, Buffalo Wild Wings, Jimmy John’s, and SONIC.
Dunkin’ was founded in 1950 and has grown into one of the largest coffee and donut brands in the United States. The company operates more than 14,200 restaurants across nearly 40 global markets.
Details on the first Canadian Dunkin’ location, city rollout, and franchise opportunities will be shared as the expansion progresses. Franchise and real estate inquiries are available through Foodtastic.
