San Francisco is inviting Canadian travellers to discover a season filled with music, cuisine, art, and hotel openings that highlight the city’s creative energy. With festivals, new restaurants, immersive exhibitions, and refreshed accommodations, visitors have plenty of reasons to plan a trip.

Music and Cultural Festivals

Portola Music Festival brings electronic dance music to Pier 80 with performers such as LCD Soundsystem, The Chemical Brothers, and Christina Aguilera. Yerba Buena Gardens Festival celebrates its 25th anniversary with over 80 free performances ranging from jazz to spoken word. The Golden Gate Park Concert Series adds evening shows featuring artists like Dead & Company and Zach Bryan. Meanwhile, Pier Party at the Wharf continues to transform Fisherman’s Wharf into a concert hub every second and fourth Saturday through September.

New Dining Experiences

The city’s dining scene is growing with diverse new openings. Meski presents Afro-Latin cuisine through an Ethiopian lens, co-founded by Draymond Green, Guma Fassil, and Nelson German. Morella introduces Argentinian-Italian fare, highlighting the influence of European migration on Argentina’s gastronomy. Bombay Brasserie, under Executive Chef Thomas George, combines Indian flavours with French techniques. Altamirano, from Chef Carlos Altamirano, blends Peruvian traditions with California ingredients in a space featuring outdoor dining and a fire pit.

Immersive Art Exhibitions

At the Palace of Fine Arts, the Balloon Museum presents EmotionAir: Art You Can Feel, a large-scale interactive installation running through September 7. The Institute of Contemporary Art San Francisco (ICA SF) is showcasing Masako Miki’s immersive “Night Parades” alongside a solo exhibition by David, both running until December 7. The Museum of Craft and Design features A Roadmap to Stardust by Neil Forrest and John Roloff, on view until September 14.

Hotel Highlights

The Taj Campton Place has revealed a redesign that blends neoclassical California style with Indian-inspired details, including updates to the Campton Bar + Bistro. The Westin St. Francis offers an In Bloom Suite filled with silk flowers, available through July 31. Hotel Zeppelin celebrates the 60th anniversary of the Grateful Dead with a themed package featuring vinyl records, Cherry Garcia ice cream, and special menu items at PLS on Post.

San Francisco continues to offer a mix of culture, creativity, and culinary experiences that invite visitors to explore and reconnect with the city.
