The First Dessert on Victoria Drive offers a comforting mix of traditional Cantonese desserts and modern flavour combinations. The menu includes more than fifty options, ranging from warm dessert soups and tofu pudding to herbal jelly, fruit-based desserts, and tangyuan.

For anyone who grew up eating Cantonese desserts, many of the choices will feel familiar. There are classics such as silky tofu pudding, black sesame soup, walnut paste, mango sago, and golden tangyuan. The portions are well suited for sharing, making this an easy place to visit with family or friends after dinner.

What We Tried

A18 Walnut & Sesame Paste
This warm dessert combines walnut and sesame into a smooth, creamy paste. The flavour was gently nutty with a mild sweetness, making it a comforting choice for a cooler evening. The texture was thick without feeling too rich.

A19 Sesame Paste With Sesame Rice Dumpling
The black sesame soup had a silky consistency and a deep roasted sesame flavour. Soft sesame rice dumplings added a chewy texture and made the dessert feel more satisfying. This was one of the most traditional options we tried and a good choice for anyone who enjoys warm dessert soups.

C1 Gui Ling Gao Plus Honey
Gui ling gao is an herbal jelly known for their slightly bitter flavour and smooth, firm texture. The honey added sweetness and balanced the herbal notes. It felt light and refreshing after the warmer desserts.

K3 Durian Mango Dessert
This dessert brought together creamy durian and sweet, ripe mango. The durian flavour was noticeable without completely covering the fruitiness of the mango. It is an easy recommendation for durian lovers looking for something cool and indulgent.

The First Dessert is a convenient late-night stop when you are craving something sweet but still want the familiar comfort of a traditional Cantonese dessert.
