The New Mexico Artisan Market (NMAM) is set to return this Thanksgiving weekend, November 24, 25, and 26, at Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town, located at 800 Rio Grande Blvd, NW. The New Mexico Multi-Cultural Foundation (NMMCF), the nonprofit organization that oversees the artisan market in partnership with Heritage Hotels, will showcase high-quality handcrafted products by New Mexico’s finest artisans.
“The New Mexico Multi-Cultural Foundation is honored to partner with Hotel Albuquerque to provide a platform that celebrates over 140 NM artists, craftspeople, and makers,” said Rebecca Tuccillo, Executive Director of NMMCF. “Over the course of three days, the stunning Alvarado Ballroom and surrounding areas will be transformed into a highly-curated experience, providing an opportunity for our artisans to share their wares, talents, expertise, and personal stories.”
Over 100 selected local artisans will be at NMAM, allowing visitors to explore the rich arts and culture of New Mexico. Artisans who are exceptional in their creative field will be selling a mix of contemporary and traditional handcrafted styles. This year’s artisans include a range of styles, from Acoma potter, LaDonna Victoriano, to silversmith, Mark Jimenez, to owner of Grey Collective hats, Jessica Lloyd.
“Our entire team at Heritage Hotels takes pride in being a statewide leader in promoting New Mexico’s culture and heritage throughout our hotels and with our artist collaborations,” said Molly Ryckman, VP of Sales and Marketing at Heritage Hotels & Resorts. “Partnering with The New Mexico Multi-Cultural Foundation has allowed us to further strengthen the creative economy of New Mexico by supporting and promoting our local creative talent. And what better time to shop locally than the holiday season.”
The New Mexico Multi-Cultural Foundation is a nonprofit that strives to promote the multiple cultures within the state of New Mexico and educate locals and visitors alike about these cultures. The tradition of connecting the community with artisans and makers is at the heart of the NMAM. The market’s mission is to support local businesses and authentically preserve the creative culture that has thrived for generations while reaching toward the future with visionary creations.
