Blue Bottle Coffee is a popular Bay Area brand of third wave coffee – that is, you can expect specialty beans that are ethically sourced and freshly roasted, resulting in a rich and flavorful cup of joe.

We visited their San Jose outpost in Santana Row which is a stand alone store. This location’s design has a minimalistic, stylish, and welcoming atmosphere. They have a sleek counter adorned with an array of brewing apparatus while the inviting scent of freshly roasted coffee beans beckons patrons inside. The cafe also has plenty of patio seating as well as an outdoor fireplace so you can linger outside over your latte no matter the season.

We had a regular cafe latte and a New Orleans-style Iced Coffee (which was a sweet, creamy, decadent iced coffee that’s cold-brewed with roasted chicory). We also had a fresh, made-to-order Liege waffle which was amazing – crunchy and not too sweet. The Chocolate Croissant was also delicious too being butter and having crispy, flaky layers.

There was a bit of a lineup and a wait as well for the Liege waffle.
