$10K Up for Grabs in New Tim Hortons Donut Contest

Tim Hortons has launched the Battle of the Donuts contest, inviting Canadians to submit their best donut idea for a chance to win $10,000 and a trip to the Tims Test Kitchen in Toronto.

Tim Hortons Launches $10,000 Donut Contest for Canadians

The contest runs until July 4, 2025, and invites participants to pitch a donut idea in 100 characters or fewer.

Three criteria will guide the selection of finalists. The donut must be creative, offering a fresh concept or reimagining a classic. It must also be easy to make, since the goal is to bring the winning idea to restaurants across Canada. And it should be crowd-pleasing, appealing to a wide range of Tim Hortons guests. Submissions that meet these standards will go through several rounds of internal review before three finalists are chosen.

The voting period begins October 6 and runs through October 19. Finalists’ ideas will be featured on timshop.ca, where Canadians can vote for their favourite. Only one vote per person is allowed.

The winner will receive $10,000 and a two-night trip for two to Toronto to co-create their donut with Chef Tallis Voakes. This includes the “Tims Innovation Experience,” where the winner will spend time in the test kitchen working on donuts and other menu items. There is also the possibility that the donut will appear in select Tim Hortons locations next year.

To enter, visit the official contest page and fill out the entry form, which includes name, email, and a short description of the donut idea. No purchase is required, and only one submission per person is permitted. All entrants and voters must be age of majority residents of Canada.
