The North Bistro at Richmond’s Empire Centre offers a casual and affordable all-you-can-eat lunch box experience.

My friend David @pickydiner introduced me to The North Bistro, which specializes in Northeastern (Dongbei-style) Chinese cuisine.
The pricing structure for the all-you-can-eat is as follows:
- Adults: $17.99
- Kids 8–14: $8.99
- Kids under 8: free
- Seniors: $10.99
- 3 items only: $11.99

Guests select from a rotating selection of Donbei-style items, including braised meats, cooked vegetables, and savoury stews, all served with high-quality Donbei rice.

How it works is you pay at the front and then receive a bento box or a stainless tray. Staff will handle your box or tray and add in the items that you want. During our visit, the food was consistently fresh and replenished.

Compared to supermarket hot bars or food court lunch options, the meal offers greater value both in quantity and variety.
The interior of the restaurant features a modern and minimalist design with a touch of traditional Chinese influence. There is a large wall mural painted in shades of blue, depicting a scenic landscape featuring Science World, Five Sails and some Chinese architecture.

Access to the restaurant is from Hazelbridge Way or through the ground floor of the Empire Centre parkade.
The North Bistro is located at 4540 Number 3 Rd #1200, Richmond, BC.
