I donated to these Vancouver charities to help support vulnerable citizens

Every little bit helps. I wanted to help support our city’s most vulnerable citizens during this difficult time so I made online donations to the Greater Vancouver Foodbank and the Vancouver Firefighters Charity.

Even in this unprecedented time, the Greater Vancouver Foodbank is committed to service to those who are food insecure across Greater Vancouver.

For every $1 you donate, the Greater Vancouver Foodbank can purchase $3 worth of nutritious, wholesome food thanks to relationships with BC farmers and wholesalers.

Over the coming weeks, off-duty firefighters will be volunteering their time to deliver care packages containing cleaning supplies and personal hygiene products to individuals who have been identified as in-need members in the community, including seniors, immunocompromised individuals, and/or people who are living with chronic illness.

Care packages will also feature curated food hampers containing perishable items generously donated by Sequoia Company of Restaurants (The Teahouse, The Sandbar, Seasons in the Park, Cardero’s), Hy’s Steakhouse and Cocktail BarThe Belgian Chocolate Café and The Holy Crab

We are all in this together to #flattenthecurve, so remember to be kind, give in whatever capacity you can, and to practice social distancing.
